Thompson First Group is currently seeking a qualified Tool Maker/Machinist for a local client in Georgetown, DE.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Blueprint reading
• Use manual mill, manual lathe and surface grinders
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Perform minor repairs on molds (pins, blades, etc.)
• CNC Milling (experience preferred)
• EDM machine (experience preferred)
• Fabricate intricate mold components from prints
• Perform all repairs on molds
• 3-D Milling
• Performs other tasks as directed by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Manual dexterity and coordination
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions
• Ability to read blueprints (preferred)
• Great attention to detail
• Work well with others
• Mechanically inclined

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Shop experience is preferred
• Experience in Injection Molding is preferred

Mathematical Skills:

• Proficient in Shop Math
• Proficient in measuring in tenths with tools such a micrometers

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to recognize non-compliance to work standards and contact appropriate supervision or management staff

Physical Demands:

• Extended hours standing and repetitive tasks
• Standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting up to 75 pounds regularly

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing environment with associated noises, smells, and temperatures

Shift:

• First Shift: 8 am to 4:30 pm, M-F
