    Tool Maker - Manufacturing - Base Salary to 36.00/hour - Cleveland, OH

    • Our client, a respected manufacturer with a 70-year legacy of excellence in manufacturing metal components, is seeking a Tool Maker to join their team in Cleveland, OH.
    • The Tool Maker will repair and create tooling, operate machining equipment, inspect and measure parts for quality, and ensure products meet specifications throughout the production process.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing precision tooling dies using machining and inspection techniques to ensure quality and accuracy.
    • Repair dies and fabricate new tooling as required to support production needs.
    • Operate machining equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and honing machines to manufacture and finish components.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine material requirements, dimensions, surface finishes, and mechanical properties.
    • Inspect machined parts at various production stages to ensure compliance with quality standards, using visual examination and precision measuring tools.
    • Measure dimensions such as length, height, angles, arcs, and radii with instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, snap gauges, surface plates, and optical comparators.
    • Test surface finishes using surface profile measuring instruments.
    • Select samples for testing during production, evaluating dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
    • Analyze inspection data and prepare reports to document conformance or deviations from specifications.
    • Communicate inspection findings and quality issues to the Inspection Supervisor promptly.

    Qualifications:

    • 2+ years' experience in tool making or a related manufacturing position involving machining and tooling
    • Ability to read and interpret documents
    • Ability to write reports
    • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
    • Ability to work with ratios, percentages, fractions, and proportions
    • Proficient in using and reading measuring devices

    Compensation:

    • Base salary to 36.00/hour
