    OVERVIEW

    The successful Director Finance is a hands-on role and will provide leadership and oversight over the entire accounting, human resources, and information technology functions. The role is solely responsible for operational reporting, the development and maintenance of accurate cost standards, profit planning, budget control, monthly forecasting, staff development and adherence to accounting profession standards and corporate policies and procedures. This position reports to the President.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversee employees (and/or 3rd party services) involved in the accounting, human resources, and information technology processes.
    • Complete month, quarter, and year-end closings, including preparation of journal entries and account/variance analysis.
    • Manage and monitor proper cash flow activities to achieve company objectives.
    • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies and controls.
    • Assist in the preparation of the plant expense budgets, monthly forecasts and month end plant operating results.
    • Review and manage standard costs of material and labor.
    • Analyze actual to budget variances and provide concise written explanations as to the rationale/reasoning for any significant discrepancies on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
    • Develop and maintain accounting policies and written accounting procedures in connection with each managed process for internal controls.
    • Generate financial statements and reports detailing financial status.
    • Support plant operations by providing accurate and timely cost reporting information to the plant floor leadership.
    • Liaison between the company and all banking, auditing, consulting, and legal firms.
    • Work with all Department Managers in implementing on-going cost cutting initiatives.
    • Conduct business analytics in support of cross functional and company needs.
    • Streamline department functions to ensure optimal productivity, efficiency, and accuracy.
    • Ensure accounts payable are paid on-time and accurately.
    • Process and coordinate collection efforts on delinquent billing amounts.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, economics or related field required. Masters or CPA preferred.

    Minimum of 5-10 years with exposure to manufacturing environment required.

    Supervisory experience preferred.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Strong knowledge of corporate financials, cost accounting, and US GAAP.
    • Prior experience and solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting software tools including use of ERP systems (Job Boss).
    • Ability to effectively communicate accounting topics to all associate levels.
    • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including advanced Excel skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to coach/develop a strong team.
    • Successful track record in leading and managing change throughout the organization.
