    Tooling Technician - Injection Molding Manufacturing - Base Salary to 27.00/hour - Gardner, MA

    • Our client is a plastic injection molding manufacturer supporting injection mold maintenance and production tooling operations. They are seeking a hands-on Tooling Technician to support mold maintenance, repair, and production tooling operations in a high production environment, on 1st shift.
    • This role is approximately 70–80% hands-on mold maintenance and repair, with the remainder focused on coordination and documentation.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plastic injection molds (multi-cavity, hot runner systems preferred)
    • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds to production-ready condition
    • Diagnose tooling issues impacting production and work cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams
    • Coordinate external vendor repairs and new tooling builds as needed
    • Conduct mold trials and validation for new or repaired tooling
    • Execute mold changes and support production floor tooling needs
    • Maintain tooling records, last shot samples, and documentation in IQMS (ERP system)
    • Generate work orders for mold repair and modifications
    • Participate in on-call support for urgent tooling issues

    Qualifications:

    • Must have experience working with plastic injection molds in a production environment
    • 3+ years of experience in plastic injection mold maintenance and repair
    • Experience working with high-cavitation molds and/or hot runner systems strongly preferred
    • Strong understanding of injection molding processes in a high-volume production environment
    • Hands-on experience with mold disassembly, cleaning, troubleshooting, and reassembly
    • Experience with manual machining equipment (mill, lathe, grinder) preferred
    • Familiarity with IQMS or similar ERP systems preferred
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues with minimal supervision
    • Valid driver’s license required; forklift certification and DOT medical card preferred

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 21.00 - 27.00/hour range
    • Overtime eligibility
