Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Bergen County NJ: Office based Monday - Friday, some flexible WFH hours
Company: Confidential: Publicly traded company in specialty materials used in industrial construction and facilities management.
Responsibilities:
A growing company is in need of a proven leader who can guide its financial systems. We are searching for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team of high-performing professionals and keep the financials positioned for continued success. The individual will be expected to lead the finance staff to achieve internal compliance and support strategic initiatives.
- Take responsibility (either directly or via staff ) for all cash management, insurance, budgeting and financial reporting and help drive the company’s financial strategy and resource needs of the finance and IT organizations.
- Coordinate development of annual operating, capital and department budgets, as well as reporting for the same.
- Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting and internal control activities of the organization.
- Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communication and workflows.
- Comply with national and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action.
- Position reports directly to the CEO and will have exposure to Board and members of the investment community.
- Work closely with the senior management team to efficiently develop budget proposals and provide access to project finance information.
- Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations and identify areas for cos reduction and process enhancement.
- Oversee IT operations by coordinating internal staff with outside service providers to ensure that systems are in place to support all aspects of the business.
- Monitor business performance with tracking tools and provide detailed reports for earnings calls, management team and rest of company.
- Perform as a strong team leader, managing direct reports (3) and providing guidance to them for managing their direct reports.
- If requested, be an advisor from a financial perspective on potential acquisitions, new contracts, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Professional certification - CPA
- Experience as a CFO in a publicly traded company with revenues over $300MM
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CFO in a manufacturing or industrial materials/chemicals/gases industry
- Proven track record of management experience and team development
- Ability to work hands-on with all levels of the organization
- Superior computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
