ABOUT THE ROLE 

Top Class Actions is looking for an Executive Editor to lead and support our web growth and design of our digital newsroom on a global scale.  Your main goal will be to manage and grow the incredible team that produces high-quality web content while increasing our audience presence from millions of viewers per month, to tens of millions of viewers per month. As our Executive Editor, you will be responsible for embodying and inspiring our core values of:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Building and growing our digital niche news website.

• Develop strategy and manage processes of the entire editorial team (US, Canada and the UK.)

• Execute strategies into SEO & SEM for content and advertising campaigns.

• Accountable for the layout and design of articles and photos.

• Draft budget proposals.

• Generate ideas for technology and process improvements to increase relationships utilizing new media.

• Analyze and recommend strategies to increase web presence.

• Ensure deadline compliance.

• Expert knowledge of media law and AP style.  

• Ensure content quality standards are inline with company mission and values.

• Leadership, Management and accountability for the editorial department.

• Collaboration with other department leaders and outside vendors, including Sales & Marketing, Operations, SEO/SEM, PPC, etc. to ensure editorial strategy is aligned with company goals and executed.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Previous working experience as an Editor for 15 years, including significant experience on the Internet and in a newsroom

• 5+ years’ experience in an Executive Editor position.

• Impeccable  writing, proofreading and editing skills.

• Proficient with software such as InDesign, Photoshop, etc.

• In-depth knowledge of best SEO practices and tools.

• Attention to detail.

• Creative thinker and problem solver.

• Prior experience leading an editorial team of full time editors, SEO experts, freelance writers and editors.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Great interpersonal and communication skills.

• BA in journalism, communications or similar relevant field required.. 

• Previous experience with international content strategy a plus. Including, but not limited to, Canada and the UK.
