    SR ORACLE APPLICATIONS DBA

    The Oracle APPS DBA will be responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, administrating, monitoring, and troubleshooting the entire Oracle EBS system including custom applications. The role requires a dedicated candidate with experience in a large enterprise environment that is detail oriented and has the ability to learn and grow with the position.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Responsible for Oracle E-Business Suite administration, installation, maintenance and support

    Supporting EBS 12.2 Application and 11g/12C/18C Database

    Responsible for OEM Grid Control (OAM Pack suite), Oracle WebLogic, Oracle SOA Suite

    Configure and maintain Load balancing/SSL across the middle tiers

    Configure and maintain iSupplier and iProcurement.

    Configure and support Concurrent Manager (OPP), Form server

    Coordination with Offshore Oracle and Application Support team, Unix/Linux/storage and other Application interface teams.

    Perform Patching, cloning, taking backups, managing archives and regular maintenance activities

    Customer facing and ability to clearly explain technical matters.

    DBA support for Oracle production, disaster recovery and non-production environments, including new database server installation and configurations, minor/major upgrades, system certifications, and implementations.

    Support high availability (HA) solutions such as RAC (or RAC1 node), Data Guard, Log Shipping, Replication etc.

    Database deployments on Cloud and Linux platforms.

    Develop and document database policies, procedures, and standards.

    Automate database installation, configuration, management standards, and procedures based on industry best practices.

    Improve uptime and reduce unplanned downtime through automation and proactive monitoring.

    Establish and maintain access controls and security for all database environments (including CIS benchmarks).

    Proactively maintain database systems at the latest security patch levels.

    Provide support to our DBA operations team and our application teams.

    Assist operations team in database installations, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and on-call after hours and weekend support if needed.

    Develop best practices and enforce these standards across the team

    Remain up to date with developments and trends in the EBS arena.

     

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

    Minimum Degree: Bachelor's degree (preferred)

    Course of study: Computer Science

    Special Requirements: May work beyond normal company hours due to business/customer need

     

     

    EXPERIENCE

    Minimum 7+ years relevant Oracle Apps DBA experience with large EBS systems.

    Legal Age Requirements: At least 18 years of age

     

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    Knowledge of all major versions of Oracle technology stack including Database, iAS, Forms, Reports, PL/SQL, Java, Enterprise Manager, SOA, WebLogic, Workflow Mailer and JVM.

    Hands-on operational expertise as an Oracle Apps DBA, with technology including High Availability (RAC), Data guard, and Backup/Recovery.

    Knowledge of Oracle EBS 11i, 12.1, 12.2 and other fusion applications, including full life-cycle, implementation experience, configuration and administration of the application.

    Strong knowledge of underlying Oracle Applications database architecture schemas/products, database objects, file system structure, tables, views, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, sequences, indexes, and constraints.

    Knowledge of Oracle maintenance/patching mechanics and EBS architecture.

    Demonstrable history solving complex problems across multiple modules.

    Hands-on operational Knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems.

    Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and Unix shell scripting.

    Ability to troubleshoot Oracle Middleware configurations in WebLogic.

    Strong trouble-shooting skills and tenacity in problem solving.

    Knowledge of Oracle application and database performance tuning.

    Ability to generate and analyze performance related reports (AWR/ADDM).

    Knowledge of Oracle EBS and related Tech Stack configurations and deployments.

    Knowledge of Oracle Database architectures such as ASM and RAC.

    Knowledge of RMAN and other backup (Expdp/Impdp) methodology implementations, experience with Oracle data guard.

    Knowledge of oracle database wait events, Database and Application parameters.

    Knowledge of Configurators, JVM’s, archiving and purging tools like Solix.

    Knowledge of traces, tkprof and finding poorly performing SQL.

    Knowledge of concurrent processing in large EBS environment.

    Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills both verbal & written.

    Ability to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situations.

    Ability to review application/databases metrics and reports in order to identify performance bottlenecks and fix them.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting of boxes or packages under 50 lbs., and sitting for long periods of time.

    Work requires regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.
