JOB QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED/PREFERRED):
- B.S. in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years of high-volume assembly process engineering experience.
- Competent ability with computer programs
- Effective problem solving skills
- Ability to lead and complete multiple projects simultaneously and under demanding situations
- Strong degree of self-motivation and self-direction
- Strong communications and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
JOB Responsibilities:
- Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation in support of sunroof assembly.
- Coordinate design, fabrication, and installation of systems built by outside vendors within required project timing.
- Train and/or provide work direction to technicians, and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation.
- Ensures validation documentation and manufacturing processes meet all Quality system requirements
- Assesses process capabilities, innovates and implements process improvements on key projects in support of sunroof assembly.
- Identify initiatives to reduce or contain cost, improve material flow, evaluate capacity and manage continuous improvement.
