Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the compilation of the company's financial statements, reports, forecasts, and budgets as well as the annual audit, tax filings and compliance and management and oversight of the accounting team. This individual will participate in the overall strategy and leadership of the company as a member of the executive team in addition to overseeing the day-to-day activity of the accounting department.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversight and direction of the accounting department (5 team members)
- Manage hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and statements
- Ownership, oversight and ongoing upkeep of company budget, forecast and cash flow projections
- Oversee and manage the annual audit of financial statements
- Oversee and manage external reporting to all debt and equity partners
- Oversight of sales and income tax reporting, preparation and audit
- Monitor financial covenants and ensure the company remains in compliance
- Continuously assess and work to improve internal controls, policies, procedures, and systems
- Inform both executive management and ownership of company financial results and provide advice on financial performance and other related items
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- 4-year degree in Accounting/Finance, MBA preferred
- CPA, Active and in good standing (highly preferred)
- 5 years' experience as the Controller or Chief Financial Officer of a $100MM+ revenue per year business
- Experience in supervising AP/AR, Payroll, GL, Financial Reporting and Cost Allocations
- Ability to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency while adhering to deadlines
- Outstanding leadership, planning, communication, and business competencies
- Sound problem solving with the ability to exercise sound judgement
- Outstanding work ethic and commitment
- Must be able to execute effectively in a fast-paced work environment that demands results
- Experience in specificality finance preferred
- Ability to be on-site full time in our Long Beach office
