    Proposal Writer – Government Projects / Government Proposal writer

    Our client has an exciting opportunity for an individual to take on the role as its Government Proposal Writer, who will be responsible for maintaining relationships with established government customers, while seeking new prospects in the New York City, New York State, and Tri-State areas, and Federal government marketplace. The Government Proposal Writer will Manage government related bids and RFPs (New York City, New York State, Tri-State Area, and Federal), ensuring that the proposals are prepared and submitted within the slated timetable, and in accordance with the project specifications. Remote work is acceptable for this position.

    Key Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Identify different sources to monitor and do research on up-coming contracting; opportunities with Federal agencies;
    • Study and evaluate already published RFP’s (Request for Proposals) and RFI’s (Request for Information) by Federal agencies in the cleaning and maintenance field;
    • Identify all federal requirements stated in the RFP or RFI documents;
    • Developing proposal content that adequately addresses the required items outlined in the federal RFP document;
    • Maintain quality of the proposal by using templates;
    • Follow proposal-writing standards, including readability, consistency, win themes, customer focus and tone;
    • Ensuring that the proposals are prepared and submitted within the slated timetable;
    • Work on the financial part of the proposal by providing competitive pricing in accordance with company’s cost structure and desired gross margin percentage;
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with contracting officers;
    • Representing the company as primary point-of-contact for assigned contracts;
    • Collaborate with and collecting technical inputs for proposal from partners/subcontractors;
    • Identify subcontractor for a particular federal project where we act as the prime supplier;
    • Negotiate prices with subcontractors to make sure we receive the best lowest and well thought out proposals;
    • Develop content for our internal/external websites, along with marketing/collateral materials for specific contracts;
    • Maintain up to date records through computer systems i.e. CRM
    • Participate in special projects as required.

    Required Skills and Competencies:

    • Knowledge of government agencies' rules and regulations regarding their bids;
    • Knowledge of government sector information sources;
    • Flexibility in writing clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals - past writing experience of proposals for the Government sector;
    • A hunter sales mentality in expanding business with both current and new government agencies;
    • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet customer expectations and work as part of a team;
    • Excellent writing skills required;
    • Ability to work on multiple deadline driven projects simultaneously;
    • Strong attention to detail and independent thinking;
    • Decision-making, problem-solving, and time-management skills;
    • Comfortable following up with others regularly;
    • Reliable transportation and valid drivers’ license to travel between clients.

    Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per year DOE
