The Breakfast Cook will participate in all aspects of Topside’s limited F&B operation, including an elaborate breakfast, kitchen operation, afternoon sweets, small bites bar menu, and the like; while maintaining and/or exceeding standards. Responsibilities: • Ensure that prep for every meal is done accurately and efficiently, is consistent with business demands, and communicate any menu changes to the GM, or, in their absence, the Manager on duty, in a timely and effective manner • Maintain consistent communication with the GM to ensure awareness of house counts, business levels, scheduled groups and activities, and guests’ special needs and requests • Manage the preparation of menu items consistent with the recipes and standards provided by the F&B Management team. • Have a working knowledge of common food allergies and controls for cross-contamination issues. • Assist in performing general maintenance and upkeep of all kitchen equipment, reporting any deficiencies to the GM • Ensure all products are always on hand and within agreed cost controls. Perform daily checks, weekly and monthly inventories with accurate and updated pricing • Responsible for counting accurately opening and closing inventory or service supplies • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment including, but not limited to, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, steamers, mixers, and chef’s knives • Protect the assets of Topside Inn and Lark Hotels • Opportunity to work at other Lark-managed properties in the off-season. Travel required • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America • ServSafe or similar certification preferred. • Must have a positive work ethic, be a strong team player, and work for the greater good of the Topside Inn and Lark Hotels • Ability to understand verbal directions, as well as written menus, recipes, labels on foods and chemicals, and other workplace safety signage Qualifications: • Personable and proactive with guests • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds between knee and shoulder • Walking, bending, and standing 100% of the shift • Frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, lifting, manual dexterity, and repetitive motions. • May require the ability to work on uneven outdoor surfaces • Possibility of working in extreme temperatures conditions both indoors and out • Schedule varies according to operational needs; will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays • Frequent hand-washing Compensation: $23 - $25 hourly
