Here's what we need:
The Real Estate Development Manager (REDM) will serve as a member of the Business Development and New Store Opening (NSO) team for Torchy’s Tacos and reports directly to the VP of Design & Development. We are looking for someone that is extremely motivated and has a desire to be a part of a rapidly growing company. You must have a strong work ethic, an attention for detail and most of all, a great attitude!
What you’ll be doing:
The REDM will assist the Business Development department in formulating and executing a growth strategy
Develop and present specific site Proposal Package: Site Attributes, Analytics Report, Proforma, and Market Partner Surveys.
Manage the real estate development calendar and pipeline, manage inflow of site opportunities; organize, prioritize, and report to REAG
Assist in LOI / lease negotiations for new locations
Understand deal points and non-negotiables for all deals
Maintain a working knowledge of all markets being developed and future markets of development
Monitor and update site selection criteria and evaluation
Evaluate potential sites and create site selection reports for potential store locations
Conduct market research to assist with the planning and development for expansion to new markets
Work across all departments to communicate site delivery, opening timeline, and deal pipeline
Work closely with Legal Counsel to negotiate lease terms and monitor lease movement; report progress
QUE-SO…here’s what you’ll need:
B.A. in Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field
Ability to travel 50-60% of the year
5+ years’ experience, or relevant education, in the Real Estate industry, to include analysis, negotiations and development and marketing of commercial land
5+ years’ experience in real estate project management; *restaurant experience preferred but not required
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Apply good judgment in decision making
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and strong human relations skills
Creative problem-solving abilities and outstanding organizational skills
Strong computer proficiency; Excellent in MS Office applications
Active listener with a passion for learning
Strong attention to detail and good time management
