Learning and Development Manager: Instructional Designer

What you’ll be doing:
We’re looking for a creative, instructional designer to join our Learning and Development Team. Must be passionate about developing engaging and innovative training materials including instructor lead training, eLearning courses, and job aids that make learning “Damn Good”. Strong facilitation, project management, and content development skills are a must, as is a sense of humor and desire to be Damn Good. This position reports to our Director of Learning and Development.
Working collaboratively with members of cross-functional teams to determine and build appropriate training solutions, materials, and media.
Designing policies and procedures documentation, operations and procedure manuals, eLearning training modules, templates, user instructions, job aids, and project proposals for both paper-based, eLearning, and digital deployment.
Documenting and communicating regularly on all aspects of project from project plans, storyboards, development, testing, to delivery.
Testing and pilot materials to ensure that training needs and objectives are being met and materials are ready for deployment to the field.
Demonstrating creativity, flexibility, and innovation in digital materials, instructor lead, and eLearning course design.
Facilitating training classes, seminars, virtual classrooms, and working sessions. Monitors, evaluates, and records training activities and program effectiveness. Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
QUE-SO…here’s what you’ll need:
5 – 7 years of experience in designing and developing learning plans in a retail or restaurant environment. Understanding of instructional design and project management principles.
Strong instructional design, creative thinking, technical writing, and oral communication skills.
Exceptional project management, organizational, multi-tasking, creativity, writing and communication skills (bilingual a plus) – strong attention to detail, and possesses a proven results orientation.
Proficient with common industry development tools and software applications (MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Captivate, Illustrator, InDesign etc.).
Demonstrated ability to effectively work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and achieve successful results.
Demonstrated ability to research problems and implement solutions.
Ability to travel 20% of the time.
Experience in the restaurant industry a plus.
CPLP Certification a plus.
