    Here’s What We Need:

    We’re looking for a tenacious Payroll Manager who enjoys working with both people and numbers. In addition to driving process improvements by partnering with the People and Finance teams, this role will also be highly involved in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, accounting, reconciliation, analysis and compliance.

    What you’ll be doing:

    Plan, assign, and manage the work of the Payroll Team

    Serve as a leader while supporting, developing and coaching Team Members

    Perform at a high level while often dealing with new issues, programs, and systems

    Challenge the status quo and innovate to drive accuracy, efficiency, and to better the Team Member experience

    Develop, optimize, and execute processes that deliver compliant, accurate, and timely payrolls

    Anticipate and plan for the changing needs of a rapidly growing company

    Establish and maintain payroll guidelines by partnering with the People and Finance Team on policies and procedures

    Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions

    Complete and validate payroll audits to verify the accuracy of all earnings, deductions and tax withholdings in accordance with all federal, state and local laws and guidelines

    Manage the accuracy of payroll preparation by reviewing and/or completing reports, approving payroll and initiating the final submission and issuance of electronic payments

    Determine payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and worker’s compensation payments

    Balance payroll bank accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies

    Provide payroll information to Team Members and Management by answering questions and requests while maintaining confidentiality

    Process journal entries timely for period close to the General Ledger for payroll related activity

    Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

    Hold routine team and one-on-one meetings with payroll team

    Complete additional requests or projects as assigned

    QUE-SO…here’s what you’ll need:

    Experience managing and optimizing payroll processes within the UltiPro payroll module

    At least 5 years’ experience in a Payroll Management position in a high-growth company (5000 employees) with a multi-state, multi-unit structure

    Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred

    Extensive knowledge of Payroll Tax and Accounting, Benefits Administration, Employment Law, Workers Compensation, Garnishments, Child Support, Federal and multi-state payroll laws

    Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting

    Self-starter with willingness to work hands-on in any part of the payroll process

    Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to organize and analyze data

    Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and advanced formulas and analysis

    Excellent planning, organization, communication and critical thinking skills
