    JOB SUMMARY

    **Prior experience in an industrial sales role strongly preferred **

    Tork Systems is looking to bring on a new team member to our growing Inside Sales team. As an inside sales rep at Tork, you will be quoting and selling specialized plumbing material to the US Navy, Coast Guard, and shipyards around the world. This is a fast-paced, demanding position that earns a good monthly commission based on company performance.

    MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Answer and respond to customer inquiries, Requests for Quotes and any other sales opportunities, whether by phone, fax, email, online or other medium. • Purchase products efficiently, cost-effectively and in coordination with customer's needs.

    • Interpret customer specifications and correctly identify products from Tork’s extensive product catalog. • Utilize and adhere to rules of company Inventory Management System. • Actively participate in sales meetings, reporting directly to Inside Sales Manager. • Meet with existing and prospective customers as needed in order to maintain and grow sales. • Correctly identify inventory items, with the ability to accurately pull stock, put away stock. • Expected to occasionally go onboard vessels to inspect and identify parts.

    NATURE AND SCOPE:

    Nature of work requires strong decision making skills, stress management and the ability to sustain multiple sales tasks simultaneously. Work review typically involves periodic review of sales performance goals and ability to work within a team sales environment. Sales work requires constantly shifting priorities, inventory availability and dynamic customer expectations. Outstanding communication skills are required to be successful in maintaining the relationship with the customer, as well as with fellow coworkers.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Expected to be onsite at Tork’s Alameda office.

    • 90%+ of job time will be in front of a computer and/or talking on the phone

    • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. • Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

    Education and Experience:

    • Typically requires college or technical education. • 2-5 years of prior sales experience required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Sales experience with a proven track record of revenue growth and a willingness to learn new skills/new industry. • Knowledge of basic customer needs and general sales process. • Strong computer skills, ideally with SAP Business One, Microsoft Excel, and Google Business Apps.

    • Strong organization and process skills. Able to prioritize, balance, and maintain several tasks simultaneously.

    Sales Compensation Plan

    • Base Pay - TBD based on experience
    • Commission paid monthly based on previous month's sales. Commission determined and implemented only after 6 months of employment. Negotiable based on sales performance/experience.
