Are you looking for an opportunity to have a large impact on the development of an emerging new technology in the fight against cancer?  We are looking for an agile Scientist or Engineer who will provide key hands-on leadership within the Cell Therapy Process Development team.

The Cell Therapy Process Development team is responsible for the development and continued evolution of the current and future GMP manufacturing platform that Torque will use to supply the clinic.  In a “Define, Design, Develop, Demonstrate, Deliver” model, the new hire will be responsible for contributing to and driving the design, development and characterization of the unit operations that comprise Torque's proprietary Adoptive T-cell therapy manufacturing platform.

The successful candidate will contribute to the design, execution, and analysis of development studies in the lab, employing modern bioprocess methodologies such as Design of Experiment and Quality by Design.  Leading from the bench, the new hire will become a subject matter expert in T-cell therapy production technologies, and contribute to the evaluation of new technologies, characterization of existing technologies, and overall improvements to the manufacturing platform.  Work collaboratively with analytical development, discovery, and technical transfer colleagues to advance technology development initiatives and contribute to process engineering efforts for our cell therapy modality.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter that can work in a fast-paced environment and is willing and able to lead by doing.  Proven excellence in technical problem solving, project management, leadership and communication is a must.   Salary and title will be commensurate with experience.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Design experiments, analyze results, communicate within the team and to senior management.
    • Lead with science, and become a subject matter expert in cell processing unit operations and technology.
    • Supervise, train and mentor junior staff to create a high performing team.
    • Contribute to the development of the manufacturing control strategy and overall state of process characterization.
    • May contribute to tech transfer or manufacturing support as needed.
