Job Description

Torsh Inc. is an education technology company that produces Torsh TALENT, an online professional learning platform that enables organizations to support educator growth through the entire development cycle of observation, assessment, goal-setting, feedback and coaching. We are looking for a Software Developer to assist with the deployment and management of our technology infrastructure and software applications. This requires envisioning and understanding the Company’s product offerings, developing and maintaining its web applications, and planning for risk and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

• Aid in all aspects of developing a modern web application using the Meteor framework

• Write clean, well-engineered Javascript, HTML, and CSS

• Work on both front and back ends of our web app.

• Work with the engineering and design team to define and develop cases (or user stories).

• Provide ongoing testing to ensure that code works well and serves its intended purpose.

• Promulgate coding conventions and documentation standards

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION

• University degree in the field of computer science, management information systems, or another rigorous engineering or math discipline

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• At least 5 years experience in mobile or web application development

• Demonstrated ability to envision mobile and web-based services that meet customer needs or solve business problems

• Hands-on experience coding in more than one currently popular web application framework

• Ability to discern user requirements and develop specifications

• Skill with Meteor, Node.js, Javascript, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies

• Experience working with various API’s

• Experience working with web services (REST, SOAP, etc.)

• Experience working with databases, including MongoDB

• Knowledge of web standards

• Ideally you also have experience working with React Native for development of mobile apps.

Software Developer will be compensated with a competitive combination of base salary, commission, and benefits.
