Job Description

Position Title – Program Coordinator Address – San Antonio  Pay – $16 per hour  Start date – asap Hour – Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Terms – Contract to hire Covid  – must be vaccinated

Required:

2-3 years of managed care or physician’s office experience Thorough knowledge of customer service, utilization review or claims processing practices in a managed care environment Knowledge of medical terminology (ICD 10 or ICD 9?)

Summary:  Assist in activities related to the medical and psychosocial aspects of utilization and coordinated care.

Job Responsibilities:

•             The Specialty Authorization Team consists of the processing of authorizations and follow-ups for DME, MHM, DAHS, and reductions/denials in which we are now at a 1 BD TAT for the processing of SK/SH/MMP authorizations.  We utilize project temps/contingent workers to assist with each of these areas as well as cross train them to be able to assist in multiple functions.   The DAHS team continues to experience high authorization volumes due to providing initial 30-day authorizations upon initial requests and agency transfer.  This in turn requires multiple follow-ups to the DAHS facilities for the required documentation. Upon receipt of the documentation, DAHS team must review it for accuracy and completeness and provide education to DAHS staff on required documentation through telephonic outreach and sending for corrections via fax. Additional follow-up is required for correction requests, and authorization creation for the remainder of the year once forms are received.
