Job Summary

Totality Staffing is seeking a Geriatric Nurse RN or LPN to join our team! Totality Staffing hires and places healthcare workers into senior care communities. As a Totality team member, you will enjoy creating your own schedule and working at a senior care community of your choice. We offer excellent 24/7 support to our team members. As a Geriatric Nurse, you will spend your time caring for aging residents, administering medication, and following care orders laid out by the team of doctors. You will also work closely with other nurses and nurses' aides offering support and guidance, make rounds with doctors as needed, and be a supportive, helpful presence to the residents. The ideal candidate has experience working with an older population, has all the required licensing in the state of Iowa, and works well independently as well as within a team environment.

Responsibilities

Make rounds to check on each patient assigned, assessing current wellbeing and making notes on issues as needed

Administer prescribed medications as directed

Make rounds with physicians as needed, offering personal experience with the patient and taking care notes

Assisting other nurses or nurses aids as needed to keep the shift moving and provide excellent care

Being a positive, supportive presence to our aging patients

Qualifications

Active, valid nursing license within the state of Iowa

Experience working with an aging population desired

Comfortability working independently and within a team

The ability to multitask and work well under pressure
