This position is directly responsible for the processing of required paperwork for vehicle releases and handling various forms of payment. At the close of daily business, cashiers will be required to reconcile cash collections and system transactions before submitting them to armored services for deposit. All deposits must be balanced exactly to system entries made during the business day. Cashiers must be prepared for non-traditional schedules, including nights as needed, and all holidays, on a rotating basis with other cashier(s).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Payment Processing & Cash Handling: Collect and process payments for towing fees, storage costs, and vehicle auctions using cash, credit, or debit cards. Reconcile daily cash reports and balance the register to ensure transaction accuracy.
Vehicle Release Coordination: Verify vehicle ownership, insurance, and lien holder information to ensure legally compliant releases.
Administrative Duties: Process impoundment paperwork, maintain records in specialized databases, and manage abandoned vehicle auction documentation.
Customer Service: Respond to inquiries regarding vehicle status, resolve complaints, and interact with law enforcement and insurance adjusters.
Properly store, in a local safe, any funds held over from a deposit for any business reason
Work in a productive, safe, and cooperative manner in accordance with all project policies and procedures
Promote and maintain a positive work environment.
Conduct other duties and special projects as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications/Skills
3 + year(s) previous cash handling experience required
Ability to count cash and other payment media accurately
Must be able to operate office equipment (copy machines, fax, telephone, pc, mouse & keyboard, and ten-key adding machine)
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Word & Excel
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
