    Job Description

Tower and its affiliates own and operate Tower Market stores, The Thermal Club, hundreds of acres of farmland as well as many commercial rental properties all located in Southern California.     OFFICE CULTURE: Tower is a great place to learn and grow. The office has an open layout to facilitate collaboration between departments. There are always opportunities to innovate and take on new projects and additional roles. Office hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Provide HR Assistance for Tower and its sister companies

    • Organize and maintain the proper entry, storage, security and use of employee personal data; including the resume, application, tax forms and all other forms related to benefits, wages, vacation, leave, sick time and company travel

    • Develop and maintain data solutions (e.g. databases, spreadsheets etc.); compile reports; and analyze data related to human resources functions including, but not limited to: compensation, hours, benefits, employee performance, workforce development and attendance tracking

    • Data entry in computer systems

    • Payroll processing for 200+ employees

    • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.

    • Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.

    • Assist management with the disciplinary process of employees

    • Responsible for incoming EDD claims; including investigation and response to claims

    • Implement and support company policies and procedures.

    • Recruiting, interviewing and hiring new staff, as well as helping the organization increase employee productivity, morale and retention

    • Assure compliance with: Employment Development Department (EDD), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), I-9

    POSITION SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

    We are looking for a candidate that has a desire to learn all areas of our business and is comfortable interacting with multiple departments. Candidates should possess strong analytical abilities and have professional office experience.

    Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in the field of Human Resources with payroll processing experience; ADP Workforce Now experience a plus; Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Strong knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures; Knowledge of: California employment law; thorough comprehension of Compensation and Benefits. Accounting (A/P, A/R) experience is a plus.
