Senior Business Partner - Human Resources

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages the Human Resources function. Areas of responsibility may include change management, training, recruiting, employee relations, policy development, compensation plans, payroll, benefit programs; talent management /succession planning, and wellness program. Provide coaching and counseling to management.
Assist the Vice President of Human Resources with strategic planning and forecasting to ensure alignment with corporate initiatives.
Handles day-to-day benefits administration for Health, Dental, Life, Short and Long Term Disability, Unemployment Insurance, Workers’ Compensation, HSA Plans, Vision Plan, Work/Life Assistance Program (EAP), 401k Retirement Plan and other Ancillary benefits.
Ensures that human resources services delivered directly or indirectly are cost effective, support of the overall company business objectives and meet HR best practices.
May lead the human resources workforce planning effort to ensure that there are adequate numbers of trained staff to accomplish business objectives and that appropriate human resource systems are in place to effectively select, reward, train and motivate staff.
Develops effective partnerships with internal business clients through consultation on human resources strategic and operational issues as related to company business objectives.
Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws for multiple locations that influence HR; responds to government and employee inquiries or complaints, coordinates their resolution.
Consults with senior management on organizational effectiveness to include re-engineering, management/employee development, workflow efficiencies, organizational and cultural change issues.
Provides advice and guidance on employee relations' issues, progressive discipline and documentation requirements to management.
Develop interventions (proactive and reactive) that support employee relations and organizational effectiveness. Develop action plans as necessary to address trends/issues.
Stays current and is award of social, economic and other trends that may affect the business or the direction of human resources policies and programs.
Counsels management on HR policies, staff career development, succession planning and other topics in support of company objectives.
Encourages progressive management and leadership and empowers staff by providing needed tools through various training initiatives.
Designs, develops and delivers HR related training to business partners, i.e.: Performance Management, Sexual Harassment, Managing a Diverse Workforce, Leadership etc.
Utilize market research and data to analysis external trends and issues in the industry that could potentially effect corporate initiatives.
Work with the Vice President of Human Resources to develop and manage department budget.
Develops and communicates HR policies and programs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management; and 5 to 8 years of HR generalist management experience. Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of human resources including organization development, employee relations. Demonstrated knowledge of the functional areas of compensation, talent management/succession plans, employee relations, benefits, training and recruitment. Experience and proficiency in HRIS/Payroll Systems, and Microsoft tools. Knowledge of the property casualty insurance industry preferred.
