PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position will be responsible for overseeing operations, while working within company guidelines. In this role, will also generate sales, manage costs, and maintain profitability.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Meet or exceed annual plan goals in all areas including, but not limited to profitability, volume of packages, and controlling costs.
• Maintain current customer base, cultivate and develop new accounts.
• Continuously look for sales opportunities, and generate new ideas, to facilitate the Sales Team in generating and developing business.
• Regulate product inventories to ensure minimum product loss, and maximum product movement.
• Regulate pricing on a daily basis; pricing must be regulated to ensure minimum loss and maximum profit, based upon local market conditions.
• Facilitate the flow of information from operations to the Corporate Function as the designated point person in the facility.
• Manage all aspects of operations with special focus on labor cost and yield management.
• Supervise office personnel with proper accounting of inventory, compliance with company policies, and compliance with Department of Transportation and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
• Responsible for understanding the Profit and Loss statements, and ensuring that all areas of deficiency are reviewed and corrected.
• Generate annual marketing plan to highlight future efforts to achieve sales goals.
• Review all issues at the local level concerning Sales, Operations, and Office Management.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 4 year College Degree, from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• At least 3 years prior experience as a General Manager, or equivalent, in a similar role.
• At least 3 to 5 years managing sales in a fast-paced, perishable environment.
• At last 5 years prior experience in fresh produce, food processing and packaging.
• Prior experience in Freight on Board (FOB), and Distribution Centers (DC) perishable sales.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook,).
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (i.e. oral and written).

• Skill in reading specifications and identifying the correct parts for fulfilling customer orders. 
• Excellent knowledge of routine and non-routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment, and basic warehouse procedures. 
• Skill in using a limited variety of packing procedures and techniques.  Knowledge of shipping documents and ability to identify shipping requirements and procedures for specific items using manual or automated processes.  
• May require skill in using heat sealers, cutters, hand and power tools. 
• Skill in completing manual and computerized forms and shipping documents regarding stock description, units of issue, weight, quantity, and labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials and equipment. 
• Requires basic arithmetic and standard formulas to determine size and volume of packing containers and materials. 
• Skill in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely
