TUTOR/MENTOR
SJU GEAR UP/NYGEAR UP PROGRAMS
LOCATION: Long Island City High School; William Cullen Bryant High School, Various other NYC High Schools (School Based Programs)
PAY RATE: $15.00 per hour
JOB PURPOSE: To provide academic, social and college preparedness support to "at risk" students that will increase their academic performance and preparation for postsecondary education
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
HS diploma required
School-Based sites located in Long Island City (candidate responsible for commuting expense)
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with high school undeserved student populations; either in tutoring or college readiness programs.
Demonstrated proficiency in the academic area for which tutoring/mentoring is provided (Math, English, Social Studies, Science and College Preparedness)
