Description: The Public Works Department seeks dynamic self-starters who seek to develop their skills, make professional connections, and strengthen their resume' and most importantly, gain work experience. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of the operation of public works and utilities while working for local government. Duties and Responsibilities: Under direct supervision performs various administrative and technical support duties to include conducting research and surveys, assembling information, compiling and analyzing statistical data, preparing various reports, and other special projects as assigned by the Public Works Director * Adheres to personnel, departmental, and safety policies and procedures. * Informs supervisor of all work activities. * Performs other duties as assigned Additional Opportunities: Assisting as needed at various afterhours town sponsored events Minimum Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * A High School Diploma * Must have a solid working knowledge of Windows based computers and must have experience with Microsoft Office programs. * Must have a valid NC driver's license and driving record in compliance with Town policy.
