SUBSTATION P&C ENGINEER - PHILADELPHIA, PA

WESTWOOD PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, INC. is seeking a Substation P&C Engineer to join our team in our Philadelphia, PA office. The Lead Substation Engineer (LSE) serves as a lead engineer on electric substation design projects for high-voltage utility systems and renewable energy interconnection projects. He/she will apply NESC, NEC, and other applicable codes and standards in the engineering design and will also independently produce: one line diagrams, three line diagrams, potential and current schematics, control schematics, alarm schematics, protection and control specifications, and I/O mapping. He/she should be familiar with protection scheme functionality. However, ability to develop relay settings and associated points mapping is not required, but preferred. He/she will also work with other internal and external project stakeholders to ensure project milestones and expectations of contracted services are met. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training preferred.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
Certificates and Licenses:
A valid driver’s license from the state that the employee resides as well as a clean driving record. Must be accessible to appropriate and reliable transportation to perform essential duties and responsibilities. CPR Certification encouraged but not mandatory.
