Trace Data is developing a ground breaking product to help companies monitor and secure their data. We're integrating the world of security, observability and connectivity.

We're looking for people with a strong background or interest in building successful products and systems; you're comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces; you have exquisite attention to detail; and love learning new technologies and systems.

Our Platform Engineer designs and develops our core platform to ingest, process and analyze data at scale.

You will:

• Develop data processing services processing millions of data points per seconds, using Go, Java, Kubernetes and GCP.
• Create highly scalable data infrastructure and a query engine handling queries against billions of data points.
• Work full stack building APIs, integrating with backend services and creating data models.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to design a great product experience.
• Drive architecture and engineering best practices.
• Participate in design and code reviews.

You may be fit for this role if you:

• Have experience of building products from the ground up.
• Are fluent with one or more programming languages such as Java, Go or Rust. 
• Have experience building large scale real-time complex data processing pipelines using Kafka, Hive or Storm.
• Know how to create large-scale distributed storage and database systems using SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL) or NoSQL (e.g. Cassandra).
• Have fluency working with SQL, Database, and APIs.
• Pride yourself in your excellent attention to detail.
• Pride yourself in writing high-quality code, high velocity and collaboration.
• Are curious and interested in learning new programming languages and technologies.
• Excellent communication skills in writing and verbally.
