Pallet Services is leading pallet supplier in western New York. We provide our used, custom, wooden and new pallets within NY & PA. We are seeking a skilled Tractor Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic team and ensure our fleet remains in top operating condition.
Job Type : Full-time or Part-time
Compensation : $25/hr to start. Review after 90 days.
Expected hours : 20-40 per week
Schedule : Monday to Friday 6am-2:30pm or 5am-11am. OT seasonally available for FT position

Job Summary:
The Tractor Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our fleet of tractor trailers. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, possesses excellent diagnostic skills, and demonstrates a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on tractor trailers, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid level checks.- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other truck components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Abide by DOT, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Interstate Authority, OSHA and other rules and regulations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to air conditioning, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding vehicle conditions and repair needs.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a mechanic training program or certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanic, specializing in diesel engines and tractor trailers.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Welding experience required
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
