HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Trade Compliance Development Lead is responsible for managing inbound logistics and customs, leading operational readiness, and supporting new territory expansion while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs rules and regulations

This is a remote position for a company based near Milwaukee, WI.

EXPECTATIONS

· Manage day-to-day import operations from Asia ensuring correct HTS, COO, value, PGAs declared
· Monitor inbound shipments and communicate clearance status, holds, and delays
· Ensure import documentation (commercial invoice, packing list, incoterms) is accurate
· Partner with freight forwarders, 3PLs, and couriers to secure on-time deliveries
· Collaborate with Finance and Operations on landed cost accuracy and intercompany charges
· Track lane performance, analyze costs, and recommend operational improvements
· Stay current on CBP rules and regulations and update SOPs accordingly
· Lead operational setup and readiness for DSOs/OSOs headquartered in Asia
· Build and maintain operational dashboards and resolve group account escalations
· Support operational planning for new North American market entries

ESSENTIALS

· 5+ years of experience in import operations and international logistics
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field preferred
· Licensed Customs Broker preferred
· Strong knowledge of FDA and CBP rules and regulations, HTS, and Incoterms
· Experience supporting complex or multi-site customers
· FDA & regulatory experience with medical device or healthcare operations
· Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Up to 10% travel domestic and international
