HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Trade Compliance Specialist supports import and export control activities, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international regulations. This role provides trade subject matter expertise in customs processes, recordkeeping, and regulatory training while supporting operational efficiency.
This position is REMOTE for a global company based near Atlanta, GA.
 
EXPECTATIONS
- Oversee day to day import and export operations
 - Provide guidance on documentation, HTS/ECCN classification, Country of Origin, Valuation, etc.
 - Manage data integrity and entry accuracy to maintain compliance with CBP, EAR, ITAR, PGAs, etc
 - Work with cross functional teams to drive trade compliance understanding and process adherence
 - Conduct import/export entries and AES filings to ensure accuracy
 - Process reconciliation, post summary corrections, and prior disclosures with defined time limits
 - Analyze data to create KPI metrics and report to share with leadership teams
 - Create and maintain processes and procedures, training others as needed
 - Liaise with Brokers, CBP, and PGAs to build partnerships and resolve issues
 - Stay up to date on import/export regulations, industry trends to incorporate into company processes
 
ESSENTIALS
- 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, operations with electronics a plus
 - Bachelor’s degree in international trade, supply chain, or related field preferred
 - Licensed Customs Broker preferred
 - Knowledge of import entry process with CBP and Partner Government Agencies 
 - Understanding of FTZ regulations and operational activities
 - Solid understanding with HTS Classification, Country of Origin, FTA, Valuation methods, and AD/CVD
 - Detailed oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
 - Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle to manage inventory movement
 - Proficient in MS Office; including Excel and Access
