HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Trade Compliance Specialist oversees the compliant, timely import and export activities and supports global trade compliance initiatives, while partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and other government agencies.
This is an in-office position based near Fort Worth, TX or Bridgeport, CT.
EXPECTATIONS
- Provide support to ensure compliant imports operations with Customs and PGAs (FDA, USDA etc.)
- Perform and maintain HTS classification, country of origin verification, and value reconciliation
- Review and maintain trade related documentation
- Coordinate with brokers and service providers to ensure expeditious release of goods
- Support duty drawback filing and reports
- Perform post entry audits to identify and implement corrective actions
- Provide backup assistance for export compliance activities licenses, screening and AES.
- Work with cross functional teams to support automation opportunities, and process improvements
- Assist in the development of trade compliance processes and work instructions
- Perform monthly analysis on internal and external trade related data to maximize efficiency
ESSENTIALS
- 4-6 years of experience in import and export compliance
- Degree in international business, supply chain or a related field preferred
- LCB preferred
- In-depth understanding of HTS/ECCN classification, COO, valuation, recordkeeping, FTA, PGA, etc.
- Experience supporting audits, investigations, and regulatory inquiries
- Strong data analytic skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with ACE and other trade compliance software, tools, and automation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently as well as effectively collaborating with others
