About the Role:
Join the International Trade Administration (ITA) in its mission to promote U.S. supply chain resilience and economic security. As a Trade Specialist , you’ll support data-driven research, strategic outreach, and engagement with industry stakeholders to help shape national trade and industrial policy.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in trade policy, economic trends, and data interpretation, who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret trade-related data and economic developments that impact U.S. supply chains and competitiveness.
Collaborate with agency leadership and technical teams to support the development and refinement of a national supply chain resilience framework.
Participate in industry engagement efforts to socialize key research findings and risk assessments.
Prepare briefing materials, written reports, policy summaries, and strategic recommendations.
Support oral briefings and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including senior government officials.
Help plan and coordinate outreach activities led by the ITA’s Supply Chain Center and partner agencies.
Contribute to research and analysis supporting the implementation of interagency and ITA-specific priorities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in international relations, public policy, economics, business, or a related field.
2–4 years of relevant experience in trade policy, economic analysis, supply chain research, or a related area.
Strong research and writing skills with the ability to translate complex data and policy into clear, concise communication.
Experience preparing formal briefings, memos, and reports for senior-level audiences.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of U.S. trade policy, supply chain dynamics, and global economic trends.
Experience working with federal agencies, trade associations, or international organizations.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and/or economic modeling tools.
Demonstrated experience with stakeholder outreach and engagement strategies.
