Overview:
Tradewinds is searching for a fashion-savvy Optician/Optician Apprentice to join the team. We are a private practice in the Lake Norman area looking for an optician apprentice or someone that is interested in the optical field to join our practice. Experience in (optical) sales is preferred but not required; if this is a field you have a passion for we'd like to chat with you.
The Optician Apprentice will be trained from the ground up on how to utilize the necessary skills to become a full Optician. Training will be conducted by an Optician, Optometrist, & additional eye care staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Hands-on, verbal, online, and review of all materials will be closely monitored as the apprentice progresses. Attention to detail is of the utmost importance. The following skills will be learned;
They should be creative, goal-oriented and focused on providing the best possible shopping experience for our customers, including sales, billing and ophthalmic troubleshooting. Candidate must be comfortable working with children and adults with eyewear. Tradewinds Eye Care is separated into Medical Services, Ophthalmic and Fashion Eye Wear, and Accessories.In this role, a successful candidate will be an effective communicator with the ability to provide an amazing guest experience. Having a basic understanding of the retail sales model or sales, in general, will be key to success. This role is an ideal start for an ambitious candidate who is eager to drive business.
Style guests with the most appropriate eye wear and perform the proper adjustments
Analyze sales and key metrics to identify business opportunities
Provide recommendations to improve sales and margins
Coordinate and create launch plans for new products
Design and execute targeted e-mails for monthly promotions
Develop the online brand and manage online merchandising
Our environment is fast-paced, and requires someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working . The ideal candidate will have experience as an Optician, an acute focus on the customer experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferred in Business and/or Fashion
Possess a creative flair for fashion
3 years of relevant optical experience preferred, but not required.
Proven track record in retail sales and merchandising
Proven track record of success in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
Proactive attitude, detail-oriented, and a team player
Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, and time management
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
