    TERRITORY SALES & EVENT REP

    In this critical role, our Sales & Events Representative will be the face of the brand with our retailer community in their region that is focused on (TE/MS/AL/FL/GA/NC/SC/KY/AK) .  Ideal location for this rep will be in Tennessee. Their goal is to create meaningful face-to-face partnerships with key BBQ destination retailers, while supporting/defending all our distribution in their territory.  This will require extensive road and overnight trips with as much as 70% of their working time on the road. They will use tool kits, in house resources to conduct retailer-training, demos, merchandising of shops, enlisting shop owners, buyers, staff and consumers into the Traeger Nation. They will look at existing distribution and collaborate with their Territory Mgr to determine short and long-term potential, to edit out the doors that are not aligned, in order to be able to amplify the best BBQ destination retailers.  As Traeger is quickly growing, this person must have an ability to prioritize and triage This person is part of a territory team, and must align with the directives of the Territory Mgr as well as work as a team, both within your territory as well as neighboring territories and in house team members. Weekend and event activation, either as coordinator or supporting participant, will be critical during key times of the year.

     

    HOW YOU'LL HELP US KICK GAS IN THE ASS: 

    • Training, which includes your personal training virtually or at HQR's on grills, techniques, B2B and Salesforce, as well as you learning to train shop employees how to sell, service and represent Traeger at retail.
    • Service/visit existing doors
      • Your TM will help you prioritize which accounts are most important and how often you should be in there vs calling/emailing
      • We focus on Top Volume Doors, Regional/National Chains, Silver to Gold Doors and Underperforming doors
      • In person visits and trainings are best, but we know virtual mtgs and trainings will also be acceptable and/or required
    • Introduction to existing dealers via phone and email is your out of the gate top priority.
    • Help TM maintain current lists of dealers and contacts in Salesforce: Ace, True Value, Furniture, Outdoor, Specialty etc
    • Look for new complimentary distribution outlets for Traeger, filling in the holes, but always being aligned with TM before committing
    • Support and implement new door opening strategy: Get us in, recommended product assortment, merchandized, Trainings etc
    • Drive overall Territory Sell Through
    • Administer in-store or virtual training and certification 
    • Support key sales and events so we are grilling for top doors and influential doors (always looking to train staff)
    • Covid limits our consumer demos, but you should still be cooking food for store staff when possible (in advance our out back of the store)
    • Work with in-house off-site sales events team to get your dealers approved and ready for off site sale events
    • Work to move your doors up the dealer locator and our dealer rankings i.e. help silver doors to gold, gold to platinum
    • Work to fill in gaps of service centers, goal is the majority of consumers have a service center within 20-30 minutes of their home
    • Implement company directives with dealers
    • Use tool kits, support and relationships to incentivize dealers to drop competitor copy cat pellets and grills
    • Work to become an expert in merchandising, use provided POP and Fixtures, and define the "Traeger Experience" in your doors
    • The ability to be transparent with our distribution so they trust and respect us, this could include some difficult conversations
    • Work with your TM to identify your area and group of dealers to focus on withing the territory
    • Competitor Analysis – when you see our competition launching something new in wood pellet grills or WPG Accessories, take pictures and send in details.
    • Speaking positively about our distribution, marketing, products etc, don't join in with dealers who want to bash our other outlets
    • Attend and support key trade shoe and offsite events hosted in their region
    • Attend National Trade Shows as Requested
    • Working with your TM and In-House teams to support marketing and event activations with your dealers
    • Look for regional influencers who are famous, have a big following and want to join team Traeger

     

     

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: 

    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree or similar B2B regional/national sales, key account management and marketing experience
    • Communication:
      • Salesforce experience is a huge plus, or commitment and drive to learn it as this is required
      • Ability to communicate regularly with dealer base, Traeger team and their team
      • Must have great follow up to emails, calls etc
      • Ability to use technology, tablets, smart phone, laptops, excel, etc
    • Good Driving Record
      • Must be able to travel via planes, trains and automobiles
      • Must pass a background check
    • Sales Experience
      • Ability to track on hand inventory, sell through and apply strategy needed to drive partnership and sell through
      • Ability to understand complex distribution and channel strategy
      • Ability to problem solve, apply triage and resources where needed, on the fly and over time
      • Ability to give input and align to territory objectives then execute and track
      • Ability to have fun, create relationships with key dealers and staff and territory VIP's
      • Ability to bring the noise and stand out, you have to leave a wake when you leave the shop!
