    Position Summary:
    The Trainer is responsible for leading and managing RFCS's comprehensive training program for Residential staff. This role ensures that all Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are properly trained, certified, and prepared to deliver high-quality care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and mental or physical health challenges.

    The Trainer delivers both pre-hire and ongoing training sessions, including CPR, Fire Safety, and Medication Administration courses, and oversees compliance with all training requirements across the organization.

    Duties and Responsibilities:**

    • Develops and implements department goals, objectives, and systems to support RFCS's training program.
    • Leads weekly pre-hire training sessions for residential staff using established curricula.
    • Conducts pre-hire site orientations and supports new employees in understanding agency policies and expectations.
    • Delivers and facilitates training classes for CPR, Fire Safety, and ODP Medication Administration , ensuring all participants meet state and organizational standards.
    • Must hold and maintain an active ODP Medication Administration “Train the Trainer” certification.
    • Oversees the Relias training platform , tracking staff progress and ensuring timely completion of required modules.
    • Coordinates training documentation and certification records in collaboration with HR and program departments.
    • Assesses staff learning needs and adjusts training content and delivery to align with agency and regulatory requirements.
    • Builds strong partnerships with community agencies, residential homes, and internal departments to support staff development and compliance.
    • Participates in the development and execution of Individual Support Plans (ISP) and Behavior Support Plans (BSP) training components.
    • Prepares and submits monthly training reports, including participation, certification updates, and areas for improvement.
    • Leads quarterly refresher and virtual group training sessions for residential staff.
    • Travels to residential community sites and off-site training locations as required.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred ; Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges.
    • Active certifications required:
    • CPR and First Aid Instructor Certification
    • Fire Safety Instructor Certification
    • ODP Medication Administration “Train the Trainer” Certificate
    • Proven experience facilitating training in a residential or human services setting.
    • Clear criminal history, medical/TB screening, and valid driver's license required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new technology platforms.
    • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
    • Ability to travel up to 50% to conduct in-person training sessions and site visits.
