    In Office: Prospect, CT

    Salary = $65,000 to $80,000

    Utilizing best-in-class resources and technology, you will roll up your sleeves and work in collaboration with a senior advisor to tackle complex financial, estate, and tax planning situations and deliver an experience to clients that is second to none.

    Interested in more details? As an Associate Financial Advisor you can expect to:

    • * Prepare for and attend client meetings, take notes, complete follow up, and correspond with clients
      
      • Participate and listen carefully in client and planning meetings and translate the discussions into a strategy for data collection and analysis to help drive financial planning efforts
      • Interview clients about their attitudes, financial constraints, and goals; identify and clarify client needs; review statements provided by clients
      • Continuously stay in relationship with clients and understand their unique circumstances, connections, talents, interests, etc.
      • Create personal financial statements
        • Conduct monthly/quarterly/ad hoc client reporting
      • Meet with clients to review paperwork; ensure all required forms are completed accurately
      • Generate reports, such as position statements, for meetings with clients
      • Organize data
      • Complete accurate financial plans in Right Capital; input updated values into appropriate planning software
      • Perform analysis of planning strategies, risks, and opportunities in the areas of retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, cash flow planning, asset allocation, asset protection, etc.
        • Identify problem areas and summarize for the advisor
      • Own the implementation of client planning strategies
    • Respond to client service needs throughout the year
    • Research new products and services that will enhance client relationships or fulfill clients’ short- and long-term financial needs; conduct research on FI 360, Morningstar® and other back-office tools
      • Stay current on trends in the financial planning area; read trade journals, books, and other publications
      • Place trades through our broker/dealer’s trading platform

    Qualifications for this role include:

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related discipline

    • Series 65 required

    • Minimum of two years of experience in the financial services industry; experience working with NFS processes and forms a plus

    • Solid understanding of financial planning concepts and terminology

      • Knowledge of mutual fund, stock, bond, insurance, and annuity products
      • Knowledge of third-party asset management systems, including how they work, their benefits and their drawbacks
      • Exposure to estate planning issues
    • Additional experience working in the 401(k) arena desirable

    • Excellent people skills, including:

      • Active listening
      • Effective communication both verbally and in writing
      • Professional, knowledgeable demeanor
    • Ability to establish rapport with clients and coworkers

    • Attention to detail

    • Ability to:

      • Work independently in a timely, efficient, and effective manner
      • Use resources available to answer questions and resolve problems (e.g., back-office resources, operations manual, procedures, etc.)
      • Prioritize workload and meet deadlines
      • Work independently
    • Demonstrated job stability and career progression

    • Proficiency with computer software, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word), CRM, Morningstar® Advisor Workstationsm
