Compensation
- Salary: $125,000+ annually based on experience and qualifications
- Eligible for a 25% bonus opportunity
Position Summary
The Transformer Engineer – LV role is a senior-level electrical engineering leadership position focused on advancing low-voltage and medium-voltage dry-type transformer product lines for complex utility, renewable energy, industrial, and data center projects. This individual will serve as a technical subject matter expert, supporting product development, customer solutions, engineering coordination, and manufacturing execution while helping drive innovation and operational success in a fast-growing infrastructure environment.
Job Function
- Lead one or more low-voltage product lines and support engineering project execution
- Assist with planning, training, and product development initiatives
- Develop quotations, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOM sheets, and detailed drawing packages
- Review specifications for requirements, lead times, testing, and documentation standards
- Manage the customer experience from quotation through production and delivery
- Coordinate project requirements between engineering, scheduling, manufacturing, and sales teams
- Provide technical support regarding product applications and specifications
- Ensure compliance with ANSI, IEEE, CSA, and NEMA standards
- Participate in customer visits and occasional assembly facility tours
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quoting, product standardization, and order management
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, ideally with a power systems focus
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering discipline or business field with relevant technical experience considered
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience with technical proposals, quoting, or engineered products
- 10+ years of experience in product management, technical sales, project coordination, or customer support in a technical environment preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is optional
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and codes
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems and transformer applications
- Ability to lead teams in remote, hybrid, or office environments
- Strong scheduling and coordination skills with sales, project managers, and senior leadership
- Ability to interpret and apply client, internal, and industry standards to complex designs
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact with clients in both office and field environments
- Experience evaluating and developing design alternatives for constructability and technical performance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- ERP or SAP experience preferred
- Intermediate CAD experience required
