Job Summary

We are seeking a Translator to join our team! As our Translator, you will be reading documentation, watching a prerecorded video, or listening in person to one language and accurately translating it into another with a close eye to maintaining accuracy to the original meaning and sentiment. You will also be using reference materials, such as dictionaries or computerized terminology banks, to determine accurate translations of technical words and terms to provide the best translation possible. The ideal candidate is fluent or nearly fluent in the desired language, has excellent communication skills, and can maintain the original message and meaning during translation.

Responsibilities

Read or listen to documentation and conversations in one language, interpret the original meaning, and provide an accurate and timely translation

Maintain all original meaning, context, and style as much as possible during the translation process

Utilize any outside resources needed for an accurate translation, including dictionaries, encyclopedias, online word banks, and more

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and coworkers

Compile and maintain a living list of common technical terms and words for reference

Maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality while handling all documentation

Qualifications

Fluency or near-fluency with both languages being used

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with basic computer programs such as the Microsoft Office suite

The ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed

The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
