Turner Staffing Group is seeking a Transmission Line Design QA/QC Engineer to support an innovative transmission infrastructure project in the Mesa, Arizona area. This is a 12-month, project-based opportunity supporting transmission line design review and quality assurance activities.
The ideal candidate will bring strong engineering fundamentals, experience in overhead transmission line design, and the ability to collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid work environment.
Position Overview
The Transmission Line Design QA/QC Engineer will perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of transmission line designs, ensuring compliance with internal standards, engineering best practices, and project requirements. This role includes design review, modeling validation, and coordination with engineering, construction, and external stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities
Design Reviews
Conduct comprehensive QA/QC reviews of transmission line designs
Complete Transmission Line Design QA/QC checklists
Review pole locations, pole types, framing callouts, structure heights, and related design components
Perform engineering review of encroachment or attachment requests related to transmission line assets
Ensure compliance with established transmission design standards
Modeling & Analysis
Perform modeling and analysis using PLS-CADD (license provided)
Validate design assumptions and confirm structural and electrical integrity of designs
Collaboration & Coordination
Attend meetings with design teams, construction personnel, and external stakeholders
Participate in site visits as required
Support cross-functional engineering coordination
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or Electrical preferred)
Strong understanding of engineering design principles
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with overhead transmission line design
Experience using PLS-CADD (license will be provided if needed)
Experience performing QA/QC engineering reviews
Familiarity with utility or power transmission standards
Work Environment & Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Hybrid schedule: 2 days per week onsite in East Mesa; 3 days remote/teleworking
Monday–Friday schedule with flexible working hours
9/80 Alternative Work Week (AWW) optional
