Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Transportation Clerk to coordinate and oversee the daily operations of produce transportation. This role involves managing a small team of drivers, ensuring timely and safe delivery of fruits and vegetables to and from our distribution facility, and maintaining accurate records of shipments and vehicle activity.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Hourly Wage - $26/Hour

• Schedule and dispatch drivers for daily pick-ups and deliveries of produce.
• Monitor driver routes and delivery timelines to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Communicate with warehouse and receiving teams to coordinate loading/unloading.
• Maintain accurate logs of shipments, delivery times, and vehicle usage.
• Ensure all transportation activities comply with food safety standards and DOT regulations.
• Track and report any delays, incidents, or maintenance issues.
• Assist in route planning to optimize fuel usage and delivery schedules.
• Verify delivery documentation including bills of lading, manifests, and receipts.
• Support drivers with troubleshooting and provide guidance on transportation procedures.
• Maintain records of driver hours, mileage, and vehicle inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in logistics or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in transportation or logistics coordination.
• Familiarity with produce handling and food safety standards.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and basic vehicle maintenance.

Work Environment:

• Office setting within a distribution facility.
