Transportation Driver (30-Passenger Bus)
Organization: Motherly Intercession Location: Flint, MI Reports To: Deputy Director / Program Coordinator
Position Summary
The Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting program participants, families, and staff to and from program activities, appointments, and community-based services. This role supports the mission of Motherly Intercession by helping remove transportation barriers that often prevent individuals and families from accessing critical resources, programming, and supportive services.
Key Responsibilities
Client Transportation
Safely transport program participants using a 30-passenger bus to scheduled program activities, services, and community resources.
Provide reliable transportation for clients attending appointments, educational programming, and reentry-related services.
Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off while maintaining a respectful and supportive environment for all passengers.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all local, state, and organizational transportation safety policies.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections.
Ensure all passengers follow safety guidelines while boarding, riding, and exiting the bus.
Report any incidents, safety concerns, or vehicle issues immediately.
Client Support
Provide a welcoming and respectful environment for all clients and families.
Assist children, individuals with limited mobility, and families when boarding or exiting the vehicle if needed.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with program participants.
Vehicle Care & Documentation
Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the bus.
Monitor fuel levels and report maintenance needs promptly.
Maintain mileage logs, trip records, and transportation documentation as required for program and grant reporting.
Qualifications
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement (or required Michigan passenger transport licensing).
Clean driving record.
Experience driving larger passenger vehicles preferred.
Ability to pass a background check.
Experience working with vulnerable populations or community-based programs is preferred.
