    Civil Transportation Engineer

    Location: Long Island & New York City
    Compensation: Up to $120,000, based on experience

    About the Company

    An established and growing consulting engineering firm with offices in the Northeast and beyond is seeking a Civil Transportation Engineer to support transportation infrastructure projects in the Long Island and NYC area. This firm provides comprehensive services across civil, structural, traffic, environmental, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, serving both municipal and private sector clients.

    Position Overview

    The Civil Transportation Engineer will play a key role within the Transportation and Infrastructure group, supporting the design and development of roadway, highway, and traffic-related projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level engineer to work on diverse public-sector transportation initiatives and collaborate with experienced technical professionals in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the geometric design and development of roadway/highway alignments

    • Design roadway pavement markings and signage

    • Support work zone traffic control plans in coordination with traffic engineers

    • Assist with drainage and utility design as it relates to roadway infrastructure

    • Prepare reports, cost estimates, technical specifications, and construction documents

    • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior staff

    • Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to meet project objectives

    • Coordinate with public agencies and multidisciplinary teams

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil/transportation design

    • EIT preferred

    • Familiarity with roadway/highway design standards and best practices

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

    • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation

    • Experience with Civil 3D or InRoads/OpenRoads is a plus

    Skills & Tools

    • AutoCAD / MicroStation

    • Civil 3D or InRoads/OpenRoads (preferred)

    • MS Office Suite

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
