    Transportation Law/Insurance Defense Associate Attorney

    We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm and looking to increase to its talented ranks of Litigation Attorneys by adding an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join our growing Transportation/Insurance Defense department.

    Successful Candidate

    A self-starter with a strong work ethic and organizational skills are essential for this position. Must have good oral communication skills and ability to communicate and be personable with clients, court staff, adversaries, witnesses; must be true team player genuinely interested in working in a supportive, collaborative environment.

    Candidate should have experience in all phases of litigation including but not limited to drafting litigation documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery demands, taking depositions, conducting research, and appearing in Court. In addition, a candidate with an insurance defense background and/or knowledge of New York State No-Fault law is strongly encouraged.

    Responsibilities:

    • Proficiency in handling cases from inception to trial and appeal.
    • Appear regularly in Court to participate in conferences and oral argument.
    • Depositions and motion practice.

    What you will need to have:

    • Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
    • Have graduated law school and have sat for the bar. Pending admission is acceptable.
    • Licensed to practice law in New York. New Jersey is a bonus.
    • 1-3 years of experience in Litigation.
    • Must be detail and deadline oriented.
    • Ability to work independently and immediately engage in client contact and assume relevant responsibilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner.
    • Strong oral and written advocacy skills. A writing sample will be requested prior to any interview.
    • Comfortable working with all levels of business professionals, including senior management and all colleagues at other departments in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
