    NEEDED: Transportation Maintenance Worker

    LOCATION: Fayetteville, AR

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: Public streets and right-of-ways

    SCHEDULE: Day shift

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain
    • positive and effective working relationships with City employees, and have
    • regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
    • Perform physical labor to include using shovel and rake as needed.
    • Pick up litter as instructed.
    • Clean shop areas as required.
    • Assist with traffic control as needed.
    • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • No prior training is required.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
    • Must be able to use various hand tools.
    • Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
    • Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
    • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear for safety reasons or to operate certain equipment.
    • The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
    • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and risk of vibration.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
