    West Coast Trans Alliance is seeking an experienced and driven individual to fill in our Operations Manager role to oversee our Asset division, West Coast Trans Intermodal. This position will be in charge of overseeing our day to day overall operations from our yard in Wilmington, CA.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsible for direction and oversight of West Coast Trans Intermodal LLC, including, but not limited to operations, maintenance, safety/compliance, equipment and personnel.

    Responsible for divisional economic performance.

    Supervise key staff to monitor operations at truck terminal, ensuring workload is completed per customer expectations; efficiency, safety and compliance with all applicable regulations.

    Responsible for managing assets and available business in such a way as to minimize operational expenses while maximizing equipment utilization.

    Develop and implement compliant and effective safety programs.

    Coordinate with company maintenance or third party mechanics to keep all owned/leased trucks, chassis and trailers maintained, safe, and operating per federal, state and local law while managing associated costs and reports.

    Assist dispatch personnel with dispatching and managing local & long distance domestic fleet.

    Manage and develop tactical solutions to fully utilize our TMS and other current software to maximize operational functions.

    Oversee accounting functions and staff to monitor customer payments.

    Share in off-hours/weekend duties to complete needed tasks.

    Coordinate with dispatch and CSR team at current or future location/s to help maximize driver and equipment utilization across the fleet.

    Assist with the compilation and communication of payroll information.

    Provide backup support to dispatch and administrative staff in the performance of their duties.

    Remain knowledgeable on current drayage and trucking regulations, trends and other relevant information.

    Develop and implement plans that will lead to improvement in company profit

    Monitor the general operations of the transportation department staff, to make sure operations are; following safety measures, government orders, and administrative policies.

    Be Involved in the negotiation and authorization of contracts and other forms of purchases and procurements that are related to the company’s transportation needs

    Negotiate with owners operators for their services and for fair rates on any loads WCTI is not capable of handling

    Maintain a high degree of integrity at all times and in all circumstances.

    Perform all duties in a professional manner which promotes the image, growth, profitability and success of the organization

    Maintain a high degree of confidentiality with issues related to drivers (private and personal matters), rates, customers and other proprietary items.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Authorization to work in the US

    Minimum 3 years of management of a trucking operation (Drayage Preferred)

    Must be a “Self-Starter”

    Must be able to work with minimum direct supervision

    Must be able to work accurately and efficiently

    Ability to remain flexible in work assignments/scheduled hours

    Ability to communicate thoroughly and professionally with all internal/external parties

    Ability to be highly organized/detail-oriented

    Ability to multitask, problem solve and function in a fast-paced environment

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and TMS system.

    Infrequent overnight travel may be required
