    Essential Job Function:

    The Transportation Process Manager will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to be responsible for the strategy and process for the business’ over the road (OTR) driving team and managers. Some OTR drivers will report directly to this report in the future. All other NAM OTR drivers will have a dotted line relationship to the delivery manager and maintain a direct line to their local manager. This role is responsible for policies, procedures, and processes associated with our OTR driving team as well processes pertaining to their management and disposition. The Delivery manager will work in parallel with the Logistics Manager and Fleet Manager to ensure decisions and processes impacting the OTR driving team are made in unison. This will be a key role serving as a voice for the drivers and the business while focusing on our driver/delivery operations within the broader fulfillment organization. The leader taking the role will need to have the ability to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and some long-term business goals. The role will be based out of our Norfolk, VA (preferred) facility where our logistics and business unit leadership teams are based or near one of our major services centers.

    • Ensures safety is a key priority among all functions by participating in all driver safety meetings within a designated region

    • Fosters a safe culture environment to drive total compliance with all regulations as it relates to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

    • Manages the delivery of Key Performance Indicators ensuring optimum driver and unit performance, including but not limited to; On-Time Delivery Percentage, Driver Turnover, Revenue per Mile, Driver, Tractor, Trailer Utilization, Empty Miles, Miles per Truck per Week, Driver Scorecard and Driver Manager Scorecard

    • Provides leadership to OTR drivers by communicating business plans to the team and ensuring alignment; building and maintaining relationships with the team; ensuring open communication and dialogue; providing support and tools necessary to aid in the execution of all freight movements

    • Manages, leads, and motivates a team to deliver results by communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines; engaging and developing teammates through effective performance management, coaching, and training

    • Implements continuous improvement methods while maintaining customer focus, and embodying company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership

    • Ensure driver aligns with company Driver policies ( Driver Compensation Policy, Driver Vacation Policy Driver EHS Policy),

    • Develop and maintain budget encompassing all fields of Transportation & Logistics activities

    • Own & set standards/expectations for all NAM professional driving personnel as well as team managing professional driving personnel

      • Set & ensure KPIs are being tracked; Regular reporting
    • Implement and maintain NAM professional driver delivery personnel strategy

    • Maintain suitable balance between Veolia WT driving team and contract hauling

    • Define, scope and select projects that will positively impact Logistics & Transportation cost & processes

      • Identify and reduce cost and process variation by developing strategy and applying Lean Six Sigma tools and tactics where needed
    • Work with business customs team and if necessary, act as a customs Leader, responsible for all import and export customs clearances, customs inspections and corporate customs audits; Train back-up within organization

    • Ensure smooth and safe environment to meet criteria from customs point of view

    • Conduct regular project reviews with project leaders and champions to assure accomplishment of key results

    • Communicate progress, status, and issues to champions, cross-functional teams, and business leaders

    • Drive formal reviews prior to shipment to ensure all targets and deliverables have been met on time and under budget

    • Ensure that critical milestones for projects are noted, recognized, and met in both time and cost

    • Partner with Logistics Manager and Veolia WT fleet team to ensure business expectations are met for fleet support

    • Partner with other organizations (HR, Sourcing, Digital Solutions, Sustaining Fleet, etc.) in the business to achieve KPI goals and productivity

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university OR college

    • At least 5 years of experience in logistics

    • At least 3 years in a leadership role

    Desired Characteristics

    • Able to meet travel requirements (25% travel).

    • Prior experience in managing change, implementation of new processes

    • Degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain / Industrial Engineering or related field

    • Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical skills

    • Ability to lead and direct multi-functional teams

    • Ability to work in high stress situations

    • Strong negotiation skills

    • Strong planning / program management skills with forecasting capabilities

    • Lean Six Sigma training

    • Experience in broader supply chain environment / organization

    • Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines

    • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects

    • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
