    Job Summary:

    The Transportation Support Professional (TSP) is responsible for safely transporting individuals with neurodivergence, including Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Autism, to and from designated locations. This role ensures that the individuals we support arrive safely and on time for appointments, employment, and community-based activities while providing compassionate assistance and supervision during transit.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Safely operate agency-owned vehicles, including wheelchair-accessible vans, in accordance with traffic laws and agency policies.
    • Assist individuals with boarding, deboarding, securing mobility devices, and ensuring proper seatbelt use.
    • Maintain a consistent transportation schedule while remaining flexible to shifting program needs.
    • Conduct routine vehicle safety checks before each shift and report any maintenance concerns promptly.
    • Collaborate and communicate with residential team members and caregivers to coordinate individualized transportation plans.
    • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies or unexpected changes using established safety protocols.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no prior accidents or traffic violations. CDL with passenger endorsement preferred but not required.
    • Clean record is required for pre-employment consideration.
    • Previous experience transporting or working with individuals with disabilities is highly preferred.
    • Ability to safely assist individuals with limited mobility, including lifting or guiding as needed.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to problem-solve in real time.

    Compensation:

    Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Eligible employees may receive additional benefits including paid time off, health insurance, and professional development opportunities.

    Working Conditions:

    Flexible schedule required, including availability for early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends. Frequent interaction with individuals requiring accommodations and physical assistance. Physical ability to support passengers with boarding, exiting, and in-transit care.

    Drug Testing Policy:

    While this role involves the care and transportation of vulnerable individuals, our organization does not require mandatory pre-employment drug testing. However, The Adolphus Group reserves the right to conduct drug testing on a case-by-case basis in response to workplace incidents, accidents, or reasonable suspicion in alignment with company policy.
