Position Summary
The Transportation & Delivery Driver is responsible for safely transporting cakes, bakery supplies, packaging, and other operational materials between bakery locations, vendors, and designated delivery sites. This role plays a critical part in supporting bakery operations by ensuring timely, accurate, and safe deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer service.
Responsibilities
Safely transport cakes, bakery products, supplies, and equipment between bakery locations.
Pick up products and supplies from vendors as scheduled.
Deliver specialty cake orders and catering orders when needed.
Load and unload deliveries carefully to protect product quality.
Verify delivery accuracy and maintain delivery logs.
Communicate with bakery managers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns immediately.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and transportation guidelines.
Assist with stocking and organizing products upon delivery.
Support bakery operations with additional tasks as business needs require.
Qualifications
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Must be at least 21 years of age (preferred based on insurance requirements).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Comfortable driving throughout the assigned market.
Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the operations team.
Previous delivery, transportation, warehouse, or logistics experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Stand, walk, bend, and climb in and out of vehicles throughout the day.
Ability to safely operate a cargo van or company vehicle.
Work in varying weather conditions while loading and unloading deliveries.
