Employment Type: Temporary / Contract (approx. 30 days, possible extension)

    Location: Fort Leavenworth, Kansas

    Overview

EMS Unlimited is standing up a dedicated Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance under a federal ground ambulance contract at Fort Leavenworth, and we're bringing in experienced travel Paramedics to run it while we build our local roster. This is a short-term assignment for a medic who wants a strong month or so of work, a station that's set up right, and a company that handles the logistics so you can focus on the calls.

    What You'll Do

    • Staff a dedicated ALS ambulance as the lead clinician on a one-Paramedic, one-EMT crew
    • Provide emergency and scheduled ALS care, assessment, and transport within your scope and Kansas protocols
    • Operate and maintain the assigned apparatus and ALS equipment; complete accurate ePCR documentation
    • Manage controlled substances under the station's program and chain of custody
    • Work as part of a small, accountable crew on a 24-hour-shift post

    Schedule

96-hour shifts, 4 on / 4 or 8 off. The full schedule is published before you sign — no surprises.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Competitive hourly pay, paid as taxable W-2 wages — rate provided upon inquiry
    • Service Contract Act Health & Welfare benefit paid on top of base wages
    • Company-provided housing for the assignment
    • Travel to and from the assignment reimbursed
    • Completion bonus for finishing the full 30-day commitment
    • Paramedic-owned company — travelers are treated as crew, not contractors
  • Qualifications

    What We're Looking For

    • Current Paramedic certification; Kansas state certification or reciprocity-eligible (NREMT strongly preferred)
    • 2+ years of 911 and/or transport ALS field experience
    • Current BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS (or PHTLS/ITLS) per Kansas requirements
    • Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record for ambulance operation
    • Ability to clear a background check and obtain access to a military installation
    • Able to credential through the contract's medical oversight (Munson Army Health Center) within the onboarding window
    • Comfortable working independently on a 24-hour-shift crew
