Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Travel Patient Care Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients and assist nursing staff in delivering high-quality care. You will work closely with patients in various settings, including inpatient and critical care environments, ensuring their comfort and well-being while adhering to safety and health protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Provide care for patients with specific needs such as geriatrics, memory care, hospice care, and infectious disease care.
- Support nursing staff in critical care settings by preparing equipment and assisting with procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Technician
- Active BLS certification
Experience
- Previous experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic life support techniques and emergency response protocols.
- Knowledge of caring for patients with diverse needs, including those requiring geriatric or hospice care.
- Understanding of infection control practices and the ability to implement aseptic techniques effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
